Shalom, one last time from Moshe Hess St. in Jerusalem. We're on our way first thing tomorrow morning.
It was amazing, yesterday Mark and I packed up the last of our boxes to be shipped and as we securely taped our very last one -- we exactly ran out of tape at that moment. It was just enough...
I know, I know -- it's silly, but I couldn't help but think about how this was like our time here. Just enough. Of course we're sad to leave (and of course our boxes could have used a few more pieces of tape), but that doesn't necessarily mean that we're not ready. This year has been an incredible one -- for both of us as individuals, as a couple, and as members of community. We will always treasure these 12 months here. But we're also enthusiastic about what lies ahead. First a week's visit with our family in Denver, getting reacquainted with our quickly growing nephew, Cameron. And a reunion with our dog, Chapin. Then we're off to LA, where we'll move into a duplex on Bedford Street in the Pico/Robertson area, just across the street from our sister and brother-in-law, Tami and Brett. I'll jump right into getting Butterfly Video Productions started and Mark will be off to camp for the summer, in Malibu. We have several weddings to celebrate this summer (including my brother's) and beyond that, four years of being in LA while Mark finishes Rabbinical school.
Thank you for "listening" this year as I processed the experience of living in this region. Thanks for your positive feedback, your genuine interest, and for taking the time to keep us updated about what has been happening in your lives. We have certainly missed you, our friends and family, and we look forward to continuing the connection with you when we return to the States.
Be well!
Much love,
Rachel Ann
